** CARPETS **
Q: How often should I clean my carpet?
Residential carpet should be cleaned every six-to-eighteen months. If you have pets or children it should be cleaned more often. It depends on the frequency of your vacuuming, the type and the color of your carpet, amount of traffic it gets and if, when, and how the carpets were cleaned before. The most important thing you need to do is vacuum the carpet frequently and thoroughly. Walking on soiled carpet is like attaching sand paper to the bottom of your shoes, it pushes the dirt and stains deep into the pile, makes them more difficult to remove, and damages the fibers. Frequent vacuuming removes some of the soiling before this happens. Always use the best vacuum cleaner you can find to prolong the life of your carpet. Carpeting is one of the most expensive items in your house. Manufacturers' warranties require regular professional cleaning and maintenance.
Carpet manufacturers and ACC&FC recommend the following:
- Vacuum heavy traffic areas 2-3 times as often as other areas.
- Based on the type of stain, use recommended spotting techniques.
- Use washable mats or rugs at all door entry ways.
- Have your carpets cleaned on a regular basis.
- Reapply a carpet protector such as Scotchgard or Teflon after each cleaning.

Q: How long will it be before our carpet is dry enough to use?
Depends on the type of carpet, how heavily soiled and stained it is, and the relative humidity in your home. Under normal conditions it averages 2-6 hours, but in extremely soiled and humid conditions it can take 6-24 hours. To shorten drying times in the winter you can turn your heating system on and slightly open a few windows to release the condensation. In the summer the air conditioner removes condensation from the air. In both instances it helps to have the central blower and ceiling fans on.
Q: Do carpets get dirty quicker after cleaning?
No! Residue left in the carpet from cheap priced, low quality cleaning processes is what causes rapid re-soiling. See our spec sheet--

Q: Do rugs get dirty quicker after cleaning?
No! Residue left in the rug from cheap priced, low quality cleaning processes is what causes rapid re-soiling. We either hand wash them or dry clean them with special equipment and products.
Q: How can I tell if my area rug needs cleaning?
Take a slightly damp white towel and rub a few areas of the rug surface to see if any soil rubs onto the towel. If the towel shows soiling then it's probably time to clean the rug.
Q: Do I need a pad under my area rug?
All rugs on top of hard surface floors and carpeting should be placed upon especially designed rug pads (not carpet padding) to help prevent rug movement, possible slips and falls, wrinkling and bunching. Rug pads take up the impact from surface traffic and heavy furniture, and cut down on the wear and surface damage.

** Cleaning Tips **
If it sounds too good to be true, it almost always is.
Don't be a victim of cheaply priced, low quality, Bait and Switch tactics. We constantly hear complaints about these companies jobs costing 3-5 times as much as the advertised price. Most of the time you are unhappy and stuck with accepting their major price increases because, they are already there to do the job and you can't afford to miss another day of work to reschedule. It is not possible to give top quality professional service at misleading, rock bottom prices.
